I started my study guide today and I'm almost done!
I was also thrilled when I found out that we could use the computers as a resource during the exam! I had a very successful day! I also tried voice chat!

Todaaaaaayyy,
I did some stuff on the agenda, and we had a lesson on Mitosis.
I need to finish the stuff on the agenda and study for the exam.
I did a good job.

Once again, my scientist didn't reply to me so I had to find ANOTHER one.
His name is Allen G Collins. HOPEFULLY, he reply's soon.
Today was a short day so I didn't get much done.

As my first day back from my trip, I had to figure out all what I missed.
Then, I didn't get a reply email from my scientist, so I had to find a new one. His name is PZ Myers and he is a associate professor at the University of Minnesota.
Then, I edited just the position of some things on my glog.
So, I have a lot of work to do. :)

POND WATER DAY!
Today, we started with a lesson on:
1. Animals
2. Plants
3. Protists
4. Fungi
5. Bacteria
Then, we began our "What Is In Pond Water?" experiment/paper. Next class I look forward to more time to work on my experiment and look more into the microscopes!!!
Thankss,
Abigail:)))

WHALEFISH! WHALEFISH!
Today,
I found a scientist! I finished my glog and then attached it to my email. I sent the email to Jeremy Montague. He is from the United Kingdom! :O! I am now waiting for my scientist to reply. At the very end of class, I started up again on my Cuban Tree Frog VS Human paper. I need to finish that and my pond water paper.
:) Abigail

Hey :)
Today was an easy day.
First I talked to Mr. H about my grade :)
Then, I worked on my email to the scientist.
I couldn't find a scientist so I still have to look for one! :(
GOOD DAY :)

Hi. Today, I got a lot of work done. I had my first big experience with Glogger. These are the biggest things I did today...
1. I started my glog on the Box Jellyfish!
2. I figured out how to upload pictures!
3. I helped Sean, Obed, and Carlton with pictures!
4. I uploaded a bunch of pics!
5. I finished Goal 1!
6. Next class, I'm gonna finish Goal 2!
7. And, write a letter to a real professional scientist!

Scientific Method
THE SCIENTIFIC METHOD!
The scientific method is a tool that scientists use to figure out tests or experiments.
SGHERC = Scooby Got Hurt Eating Roasted Chicken
S= State the Problem
G= Get Information
H= Hypothesis
E= Experiment
R= Record Data
C= Conclusion
Here is our Pocket Tanks Experiment!
Here is a slide show on some pictures and a description of some weapons!
http://docs.google.com/present/edit?id=0AbkWUnPbTDHsZGhwa2tqd21fNWMzNThxNmZo&hl=en
Conclusion: In the game, I conclude that changing the power really is the best way to win the game. I personally think that changing the power really changes your odds of winning the game. If you change your angle, it will change where you hit, but, without enough power, you will never get there!
THANK YOU!!!!

Here is our Pocket Tanks Experiment!
Pocket Tanks and The Scientific Method!
State the Problem: Do you think that adjusting the angle or power helps the most with winning the game?
Gather Information: Pocket Tanks is a game that you can either buy or download and is a great game to play! You play against another person (or the computer) and you try to hit them and get points. You can change the angle, power and weapon. Pocket Tanks was created by Blitwise productions and is compatible with Windows and Mac. I think that this game is a great way to show how learning about physics can be fun!
Hypothesis: My hypothesis is that changing the power helps the most because if you don't have enough power, you can never get to the other tank!
Experiment: Here are the steps to playing Pocket Tanks:
1. http://www.blitwise.com/downloads.html <---- Go here to download Pocket Tanks! (This is the way to get to the game. 2. Follow all the installation questions and say yes (or run and save file). 3. After you download the game, go to Google. 4. Click "More" at the top of the page and click "Documents". 5. Login. 6. After you login, start a new spreadsheet document. (Weather or not you play against a friend or the computer, this document will help you record your data.) 7. In the top spaces, we will be writing the titles of each column. 8. In A2, write Partner 9. In B2, write Hit Number 10. In C2, write Angle 11. In D2, write Power 12. In E2, write Weapon 13. In F2, write Moves 14. In G2, write Hit or Miss 15. In H2, write Location X,Y 16. In I2, write Points 17. Go back to the link and begin your game. (Go through putting your name in, color and choosing your weapons) 18. TURN OFF SOUND! (Found in options) 19. Add the data into your spreadsheet. 20. Post as a website and you're done!
Record and Analyze:

Asian Cobra :)
We think that the scariest animal ever is the Asian Cobra.
Here is some information about the animal:
The Asian Cobra is an also called the Common or Indian Cobra.
It seldom reaches a length of more than 6 ft. However, its hood is, proportionately, much larger than that of the King cobra. This snake causes thousands of deaths each year in India, where it is regarded with religious awe, and is seldom killed.
Like most snakes the Cobras diet consists mostly of small mammals particularly rodents.
India, China, Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand is where they usually live.
Venom and Bite:
The Asian Cobra contributes to thousands of deaths per year in India alone, but will seldom attack unprovoked. If death does not occur a serious bite can lead to permanent damage by destruction of tissue of loss of finger or limb.
Here are some pictures!

Abigail's Questions:
Question 1:
What are their predators?
Question 2:
How dangerous is their venom?
Deadly enough to kill or be seriously injured.
Highly dangerous and venomous.
Question 3:
How long would the attack last?
Sean's Questions:
Question 1:
Is their venom strong enough to kill?
If death does not occur a serious bite can lead to permanent damage by destruction of tissue of loss of finger or limb.
Question 2:
Do they attack easily?
Question 3:
What does the venom do to you or your body?
All information is from http://www.silvercreek.wclark.k12.in.us/StudentWork/WebProjects/WebProjects/DangerousSnakes/asiancobra.htm

Chameleons
Hey! My topic is Chameleons. This post will be all about Chameleons.
Top 5 Important Things about a Chameleon-
1. Food
2. Habitat
3. Color
4. Personality
5. Illnesses
Information-
1. They can change colors.
2. Usually breed in October
3. Lay 10 to 30 eggs
4. They feed manly on locusts and other insects
5. This creature is able to extend its sticky tongue as far as one and a half times its body length. 6. In order to strike an insect, the reptile opens its mouth and throws out the tongue. There is a sticky bulb at the end of the tongue, which grabs the prey
Quick Tips-
Before you get a chameleon, ask these questions:
1. Do you have the space for an adult chameleon?
2. Do you have time for a chameleon?
3. What species should you start out with?
4. How old should the chameleon be?
5. How can I tell if the chameleon is healthy?
Here are some Chameleon pictures!
